Day 16: Your views on mainstream music.
I am a musically-inclined person but I’m honestly not into mainstream music. I may like them at first but as time passes by and too much people already play them, I start to get tired with it. I mean, I will hear it everywhere eventhough it’s not suitable to my state or feelings, and also what bothers me are those hardcore fangirls and fanboys over-reacting. I just want to play a song when I want to, based on my emotional status not on every street. Like those Justin Bieber’s song, One Direction’s song, and the super mainstream GANGNAM Style. They’re all good , but for me, after hearing it over and over in some places, it really irritates me. But there’s still an exception for me and I know for others also. Like I was a Taylor Swift fan so whatever happens, I will love her songs but I’m not too much attached with it/with her. We know most of her songs are considered as mainstream. All of us have different likes or hobbies but still, everything must be balanced.
After all, I still love some old songs or those we call “oldies” and specially OPM (Only Pinoy Music). I’m so happy I’m a 90’s kid because this kid’s generation today are somehow liberal and outgoing. They will go to what’s trending. My heart still seeks for those deep-rooted songs or raps made of relevant lessons, literary works, and true love. I still preserve some old songs on my laptop. hi hi.
